Bsoft provides functionality for other packages, mainly in allowing access to multiple image formats as well as handling large sets of parameters through the STAR format.
This package contains two programs, PFT2 and EM3DR2, derived from the original progams, EMPFT and EM3DR, from the Purdue package for electron micrograph processing and 3D reconstruction. PFT2 is used to find the orientations of single particle images with respect to a reference map. EM3DR2 does a Fourier-Bessel reconstruction from a set of single particle images with defined orientations. This package requires Fortran, C and C++ compilers and is typically compiled with:
make_pft3dr
Under IRIX and Mac OSX, only the 32 bit version of these programs work correctly, which requires the 32 bit version of Bsoft. In both cases the package should compiled with:
make_pft3dr 32
